TASIS Dorado, as a TASIS Foundation
affiliated school, is committed to provide its students with an
excellent education based on traditional values and the ideals and
humanitarian values of Western civilization. The school will serve
students from Pre Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 stimulating
them to strive for excellence in all intellectual, social, and personal
endeavors and to commit themselves to be good citizens striving
for the welfare of their communities, their nation and their world.
By focusing on the development of community as well as individual
growth, the school challenges each student to achieve his or her
full potential within a caring and supportive environment. The school
values the integral education of its students; consequently there
will be an emphasis for the well balanced development of the academic,
cultural, social, emotional and physical aspects of all its students.
The student's aesthetic and social growth will be enhanced by study
in beautiful, historical and ecologically rich settings. The school
emphasizes understanding, respect, and caring for the local and
the international communities.
Commensurate with its commitment to the pursuit of academic excellence,
TASIS also seeks to develop individual responsibility and integrity
within a diverse student population and to instill the qualities
of honesty, compassion, fairness and respect.
The Early Childhood Program (Pre Pre K to Grade 2), the Lower
School (Grades 3 - 5), and the Middle School (Grades 6 - 8) promote
these beliefs through small groups, self-contained classes arranged
in approximate-age group format. Students enjoy the advantages of
consistency provided by a homeroom environment and the advantages
of variety through specialists in music, drama, art, physical education,
computer and library skills.
While the program has a strong academic emphasis, TASIS focuses
upon the aesthetic and social nurturing of the child as well. Each
staff member in the school respects the intrinsic integrity and
individual differences of the child, and thus each child learns
through example the respect that every human being deserves. The
curriculum is both traditional and innovative and is supplemented
by a variety of social and cultural activities. TASIS endorses through
all of its programs an enthusiasm for life, for learning and for
individual growth within a purposeful community.
