Goals for the Pre
School Program ( three years old program):
“Love of children” is central to the educational philosophy
of all TASIS schools. This has to be the primary motivation for
all who in one way or another participate in the planning and implementation
of our Pre School Program.
The Pre School Program within the TASIS Dorado physical plant is
an educational program which serves youngsters who are 3 years old
by September 1. Different from a day care center these youngsters
are lovingly cared for during the day within an educational and
recreational environment designed to stimulate appropriate age level
individual growth in each child.
TASIS Dorado will provide a caring and loving Pre School Program
integrating a well motivated and well trained staff; an appropriately
designed physical plant; a carefully developed and paced educational
program of activities; and the necessary educational and recreational
equipment, materials and supplies selected with great care. All
of these should challenge a youngster’s imagination and creativity
as well as invite him/her to explore and discover on his/her own
and as a group. Youngsters will engage in activities that require:
playing, touching and manipulating, exercising, singing, talking,
watching, listening, interacting with others, resting and learning;
all integrated in a program geared towards the development of each
child in their affective, social, intellectual, cultural and physical
domains.
Admissions:
TASIS Dorado desires to attract students, who
are well motivated towards attending pre school, who are able to
meet the expectations of a quality pre school program leading to
a Pre-Kinder experience in a demanding school such as TASIS Dorado.
These students will be gradually challenged to adapt to and learn
in an English as a language of instruction environment.
Page 2, Admissions Information for the Pre School Program
Students whose native language is not English program will spend
their school day in the regular classroom immersed in the educational
program through which the English language is gradually introduced.
Teachers will be aware of their language needs and these students
will receive special help in their transition stage.
We expect all youngsters who attend our Pre School Program (PPK,
PK, and K) to be toilet trained.
All candidates are given careful consideration in the admissions
process and any adverse decisions are made regretfully but with
the best interest of the child and the school in mind. Reasons for
either admissions or non-acceptance of applicants are made upon
de consideration of many factors including assessment of readiness,
as well as an assessment of whether the school has the appropriate
care and educational programs to meet the needs of the youngster.
The final decision on admission of an applicant is based on the
collective experience and judgment of the school administrators.
All applicants are notified in writing of the decision of the committee
on admissions. Each applicant’s admission folder and its content
is the property of TASIS Dorado and may not be copied.

Admissions Goals:
TASIS Dorado desires to attract average and above
average ability students, who are well motivated towards attending
school, able to meet high standards and high expectations both in
their academic and social endeavors. These students should demonstrate

language upon admission, in order to insure that they can fully
benefit from the educational program offered.

who may need extra support and tuition in English beyond what the
school can offer within the regular program, will be referred to
tutors, which may be allowed to meet with the child during the school
day if scheduling allows. Parents will be responsible for these
tutorial fees to help their youngsters achieve the readiness required
to contribute to as well as benefit fully from our curriculum and
school environment.
