TASIS Dorado x Georgia Tech
A Strategic Partnership in Global Innovation and Learning
Advancing STEM Education in Puerto Rico
TASIS Dorado has established itself as a leader in STEM education, earning worldwide recognition from the Middle States Association with the STEM Program of Distinction and the RAIL Endorsement for the ethical use of artificial intelligence.
Building on this foundation, we are proud to announce a strategic partnership with the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), one of the world’s leading institutions in STEM, innovation, and applied research. This alliance further strengthens TASIS Dorado’s established leadership and expands our programs through global collaboration.
A distinguished team from Georgia Tech visited our campus. During their visit, we had the opportunity to interact with the Dean of the College of Lifetime Learning, as well as leaders from the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing (CEISMC), the College of Engineering, and International Development.
The team met with faculty and staff, visited classrooms, and explored our academic program. A highlight of the visit was an in-depth tour of our new three-story Center for STEM Excellence, currently under construction, where discussions focused on the design of next-generation learning environments and program innovation. The CEISMC team also observed the early stages of our future Music and Visual Arts Center, gaining insight into the design and intent guiding these spaces.
This collaboration establishes a powerful framework for advancing teaching and learning at TASIS Dorado. Together, we are strengthening curriculum design, expanding faculty development, and integrating cutting-edge STEAM practices across all divisions.
A key focus is building a cohesive K–12 experience, where skills and concepts develop intentionally over time and connect across disciplines, while also advancing an integrated K–12 innovation ecosystem that connects classroom learning with real-world applications in fields such as engineering, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship. Students will engage in initiatives such as Georgia Tech’s InVenture Prize, an invention and entrepreneurship program where participants identify real-world challenges and design innovative solutions.
For our students, this translates into earlier exposure to advanced critical thinking, strengthened problem-solving capabilities, and more defined pathways to top universities and future careers, preparing them not only to succeed, but to lead with purpose and impact.
This endeavor builds on our STEAM Campaign, accelerating investments in the people, programs, and spaces that define excellence at TASIS Dorado. With Georgia Tech as a partner, we are bringing global expertise to Puerto Rico while reinforcing our leadership in STEAM education on the island and beyond.
With the full support of the TASIS Dorado Board of Directors, we recognize Board and Founding Family Member Ceciliana Stubbe for leading this initiative at the Board level and providing strategic oversight, alongside the dedication of the faculty and leadership team. The TASIS Dorado STEAM Partnership Liaison Committee is led by Head of School Sara Hernández, with Amelia O’Neill, Academic Dean, leading academic implementation, and Dr. Alberto Chiecchio, Innovation Sciences and Mathematics Coordinator, and a globally recognized leader in ethical artificial intelligence education.
The partnership is further strengthened by our founder’s longstanding relationship with his alma mater.
Federico “Friedel” Stubbe, who has long believed in the power of education to drive progress and opportunity, is a 2024 Georgia Tech’s Engineering Hall of Fame inductee, past chairman of the Georgia Tech Advisory Board, former member of the College of Engineering’s Advisory Board, and current trustee emeritus of the Georgia Tech Foundation. His leadership has shaped both TASIS Dorado and communities across Puerto Rico through impactful development and civic engagement. Today, this collaboration brings his vision full circle, connecting TASIS Dorado and Georgia Tech to expand opportunities for our students and strengthen the future of education in Puerto Rico.
This strategic initiative reflects a bold and forward-looking vision for education at TASIS Dorado. Rooted in our origins and focused on what lies ahead, this is only the beginning.
