Sylvia Rodríguez Vargas, PhD, began her teaching career at The Ohio State University and has served independent schools across the United States for over twenty-five years. At the university level, Dr. Rodríguez Vargas taught undergraduate courses, was the resident director for a study abroad program in Mexico, and served as a research fellow in Spain. Her journey in independent schools includes serving as a teacher, department chair, division director, communications and marketing chair, academic dean, director of strategic initiatives, associate head, and head of school. She has also traveled to several cities across China to develop a Mandarin language program and for admission and advancement initiatives.
