STEM Leadership & Innovation

Recognized globally. Designed for the future. Proven in practice.
At TASIS Dorado, STEAM is not a program. It is a framework for how students think, create, and lead. As one of only ten schools worldwide recognized with both the Middle States Association STEM Program of Distinction and a RAIL Endorsement in ethical artificial intelligence, TASIS Dorado stands at the forefront of globally recognized, future-ready education. Through strategic partnerships, advanced facilities, and a vertically aligned K–12 curriculum, we are building an integrated innovation ecosystem that connects learning to real-world impact.
TASIS Dorado x Georgia Tech
A Strategic Partnership in Global Innovation and Learning
Advancing STEM Education in Puerto Rico
TASIS Dorado has established itself as a leader in STEM education, earning worldwide recognition from the Middle States Association with the STEM Program of Distinction and the RAIL Endorsement for the ethical use of artificial intelligence.
Building on this foundation, we are proud to announce a strategic partnership with the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), one of the world’s leading institutions in STEM, innovation, and applied research. This alliance further strengthens TASIS Dorado’s established leadership and expands our programs through global collaboration.
A key focus is building a cohesive K–12 experience, where skills and concepts develop intentionally over time and connect across disciplines, while also advancing an integrated K–12 innovation ecosystem that connects classroom learning with real-world applications in fields such as engineering, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship. Students will engage in initiatives such as Georgia Tech’s InVenture Prize, an invention and entrepreneurship program where participants identify real-world challenges and design innovative solutions.
For our students, this translates into earlier exposure to advanced critical thinking, strengthened problem-solving capabilities, and more defined pathways to top universities and future careers, preparing them not only to succeed, but to lead with purpose and impact.
This endeavor builds on our STEAM Campaign, accelerating investments in the people, programs, and spaces that define excellence at TASIS Dorado. With Georgia Tech as a partner, we are bringing global expertise to Puerto Rico while reinforcing our leadership in STEAM education on the island and beyond.
Research & Real-World Impact
Marine Biology Research Program (Grade 7)
Students engage in marine conservation and leadership development, focusing on real challenges such as coral reef preservation. Guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), students research, design solutions, and present their findings.
Sustainable Future Research Program (Grade 8)
Focused on sustainable agriculture, food systems, and global resource management, students apply design thinking to real-world challenges. The program culminates in a field-based learning experience where students present applied research and solutions.
Innovation Sciences (PK–12)
Innovation begins early and builds intentionally.
From Kindergarten through Grade 12, students develop skills in:
- Coding and robotics
- Computer science and machine learning
- Design thinking and systems problem-solving
Our program is anchored in hands-on, inquiry-driven learning, supported by specialized spaces including our STEAM Lab and computer science labs.
At the secondary level (Grades 6-12), students can pursue advanced coursework such as:
- Advanced Python Programming
- AP Computer Science Principles
- AP Computer Science A
- AP Cybersecurity
- Intro to Computer Science
- Machine Learning
Computer Science also fulfills our third language requirement, reinforcing its role as a core literacy of the future.
STEAM Lab: From Ideas to Reality
Our STEAM Lab is a creative engineering and prototyping hub where students bring ideas to life.
Students design, test, and build using:
- 3D printers and 3D scanners
- Laser cutters
- CNC milling machines
- Collaborative design and brainstorming spaces
This environment empowers students to move from concept to creation, developing the skills needed to innovate with purpose.
A Cohesive STEM K–12 Innovation Ecosystem
Every experience at TASIS Dorado is intentionally connected.
Our approach ensures:
- Vertical alignment across grade levels
- Cross-disciplinary integration
- Real-world application of learning
Students develop the ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and lead in an increasingly technological and interconnected world.
