Upper School

A TASIS Dorado college-preparatory education provides a strong academic foundation and the student's cultural, social, psychological, and physical development. Our student body develops into leaders, honorable individuals, and exemplary citizens.

Our rigorous high school program ensures that our students graduate with a solid breadth and depth of knowledge and skills that allow them to tackle post-secondary education successfully. A wide range of advanced courses allows students to pursue their areas of interest to a greater depth and offers preparation for college-level courses. All students take the core subjects of English, Spanish, Math, Science, History / Social Sciences, and a third language or Innovation Sciences concentration as well as electives.

Students who meet specific criteria may enroll in "Enriched" and Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and in some instances, courses may be designed to meet students' advanced needs.

Special programs include Exploration Days and other thematic weeks, a new Leadership Program and Leadership Academy, unique electives through the Global Online Academy, community service, academic exchanges, overseas travel, visiting experts and artists, summer activities, and more.

In addition, a social-emotional learning program, The Social Institute, integrated into an advisory program is designed to guide students through secondary school. This program provides the tools for students to clarify their strengths, learn to deal with challenges and stress, problem solve and establish goals and priorities, supporting our effort to ensure that student wellness is equally as important as academic success.

The High School academic program meets and exceeds the requirements of colleges and universities in the United States and Puerto Rico. All core subject courses meet Puerto Rico's "Nivel Avanzado" criteria.
