Pablo Casanova Pou '21

A student at TASIS Dorado since PPK, Pablo is deeply committed to the TASIS experience! He loves basketball, enjoys both math and science, and likes spending his time with friends at the beach. Pablo has served his fellow student body as a member of student government throughout much of his Secondary School experience. He was Class President in 6th and 10th grades, as well as a member of the Student Council Executive Board serving as Secretary and Vice President during high school. Pablo has also been a member of the National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society, as well as an active member of the Interact Club. He has also volunteered his time with both Kinesis and Los Naranjos as a tutor to students in need. A constant presence on the court, Pablo has played both basketball and volleyball since elementary school and served as Varsity Captain for both.

“My time on the basketball court has had the biggest impact on me. The values I have learned from Coach Knapp are some that I have weaved into my everyday life and will carry with me to college and beyond. When playing on the court, I will always appreciate seeing my friends, family, and the larger school community cheering us on.”

“My experience at TASIS has helped me master time management. With the rigorous academics and abundance of extracurricular activities, it can be a struggle to find time to do it all. After years of taking advanced courses, taking AP classes, and playing two sports, I am finally confident in my ability to juggle multiple things at once!”

Valeria is a self-proclaimed animal lover, with a bird and three dogs of her own. She enjoys traveling the Island, exploring new places, and encountering new experiences. An accomplished dancer, Valeria shares her exceptional talent with the community by choreographing many dances for both her class and school-wide activities, including two First Place wins in the coveted Spirit Week Dance Competition.

“What I value most about TASIS Dorado, and will miss greatly, is the close relationships students are able to make with teachers. Throughout my years here, I've built such close ties with my teachers that TASIS has become my second home. Not only have my teachers played a monumental role in my life, but TASIS has allowed me to develop dynamic leadership skills. Because of these experiences, I have become the scholar I am today and prepared to be an instrument of change.”
