Part of our school's mission is to encourage students to positively impact the world around them, so community service is an important component of a TASIS Dorado student's education. All High School students must complete 100 hours of community service as a requirement for graduation. Membership in clubs and societies may entail additional hours of service. Community service activities can range from planting trees for erosion mitigation or picking up garbage from beaches or lakes to tutoring disadvantaged students from area schools, teaching foreign languages or participating in a home makeover or helping with lionfish removal.
Students often volunteer with existing organizations: Hogar Ruth, Hogar Santa Teresita, Hogar Niño Campeón de Jesús, Bill's Kitchen, Niños que Quieren Sonreir, Manatee Rescue Center, Bosque Cambalache, Jane Stern Dorado Community Library, UNICEF, Bayamón Children's Hospital, Hospital del Niño, Ronald McDonald House and more.
Please download/print the Community Service Verification Form and have it filled and signed with the number of hours completed by the Teacher or Event Sponsor for each community service activity you attend:
