Ángel Rocafort, class of 2017, received the Rafael Carrión Jr. Academic Excellence Award from Fundación Banco Popular, at a ceremony that took place at Centro Europa, in Santurce. The award recognizes the academic performance of students who completed their senior year of high school, got the highest scores in the College Admission and Evaluation Test, and approved two or more Advanced Level Program Tests.

Fundación Banco Popular grants this award with the advice of the office for Puerto Rico and Latin America of the College Board, the entity that manages these tests. The students winning the scholarship receive a sculpture from Luis Torruella, Puerto Rican artist and a cash prize of $1,000.
