2021-2022 Report on Progress & Philanthropy
This school year, we marked TASIS Dorado’s 20th Anniversary of its founding in 2002. Our mission and values, then and now, encourage our students to strive for excellence in all intellectual, social, and personal endeavors and commit themselves to become good citizens working for the welfare of their communities and their world. TASIS Dorado’s growth these past two decades has been nothing short of astonishing as the School extended its education from elementary through middle and high school years, improving and expanding its curricular offerings, and building the finest campus facilities on the Island.
This Report on Progress and Philanthropy also commemorates an exceptional year in school history as the challenges of the ongoing pandemic continued to disrupt education around the globe. Yet, it did not stop TASIS Dorado from returning to in-person learning and delivering a world-class education to our students. I am immensely proud of how the School’s faculty and staff gracefully engaged with students and parents every day despite the changes throughout the year, adapting to constantly shifting conditions and public guidelines. Thankfully, collaboration and community have been hallmarks of the School from its inception. This year was no different as TASIS Dorado community members rallied around our teachers and students and provided them with heartfelt support throughout the most challenging moments of the year.
Consequently, we emerge from this school year stronger as a community, strengthened by the generosity, empathy, flexibility, and commitment of our entire TASIS Dorado family. Many of the facts and figures in these pages provide evidence of how our constituents continued to come together and support the School, as demonstrated by our record-breaking fundraising year.
With twenty years since our founding, we fondly remember our past, take pride in our many successes in the present, and look forward with great anticipation towards a promising future. The unwavering commitment from our entire community - students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, grandparents, community partners, and friends - is inspirational and will sustain us in the years ahead. Thank you for playing a pivotal role during this transformational time in our history.

ANNUAL REPORT 2017-2018
HIGHLIGHTS AND FINANCE REPORT
The mission of TASIS Dorado is to challenge and nurture students to pursue academic and personal excellence so that they become engaged global citizens and innovative, selfless leaders. We instill in our students the values of courage, kindness, integrity, humility and a commitment to building community.
This Annual Report offers highlights, as well as an overview of our financials and development, from 2017 to 2018.
2018 was a year of extraordinary teamwork and resilience at TASIS Dorado. In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, our school community united as never before. We joined forces to clean up and reopen the school, support our faculty and students, and serve many other communities around the island that were hit hard by the storm. We marveled at our teamwork and resilience and gave thanks for each person who sacrificed time and energy.
We are also immensely grateful for the many individuals who gave so generously to support our teachers and academic program. Notice the many names listed in the pages that follow. Two simple truths have motivated our school’s leaders, teachers, and parents: children deserve our best and even the best schools cannot stand still.
The philosopher Alfred North Whitehead wrote, “Education is impossible without a habitual vision of greatness.” Our students need a compelling vision of academic and personal excellence and a strong sense of belonging to a caring community. Our teachers and staff seek to nurture and challenge each of our young scholars, so that they become engaged global citizens and innovative, selfless leaders.
In spite of the effects of Maria, we began this current school year with our largest enrollment ever -- over 850 students. They too are the evidence of our teamwork and resilience.
You make all this possible. Your support and gifts allow us to fulfill our exceptional mission to challenge students from diverse backgrounds to the highest standards of excellence. Thank you for joining us in the crucial task of educating our children and casting a compelling vision for the future.
