2020 Inaugural Alumni Class Giving Challenge
It's time to unleash that competitive spirit and stir up some healthy class rivalry through TASIS Dorado’s Inaugural Alumni Class Giving Challenge.
The Class Challenge is to benefit the future TASIS Wellness & Athletics Center, a state-of-the-art gymnasium complex at TASIS Dorado featuring a rock climbing wall, physical fitness facilities, courts for basketball, volleyball, and indoor soccer, locker rooms with showers, as well as a dedicated space for our Wellness Program that will significantly add to the TASIS Dorado experience. An upgrade of surrounding areas will include a revitalized soccer field with a turf surface, track & field facilities, and two new playgrounds.
As part of our fundraising efforts, we are incorporating a TD Bricks Campaign, which will “lay the foundation” for years of exciting competition and personal growth for both youth and adults. It will also help all members of the TASIS community to adopt and maintain healthy behaviors with a strong focus on nutrition, physical activity, and mental health. Each brick purchased will be prominently displayed at the TASIS Wellness & Athletics Center entrance walkway, cementing your place in TD history.
We invite all members of the TD alumni community to join us in the TD Bricks Campaign by purchasing a brick as an individual or a group. Alumni, parents of alumni and grandparents of alumni are welcome to participate in the campaign in support of a specific class. Your purchased brick can be used as a tribute to a class; recognition of a loved one; commemoration of a special occasion, or promotion of a business or cause.
CHALLENGE GOAL: Classes 2011 to 2019 are hereby challenged to reach a goal of 30% participation per Class between March 23 and April 20, 2020.
CHALLENGE WINNER(S): The winning class or classes will be based on two categories:
- Donor Participation - Highest Giving Percentage (%) by a Single Class
- Dollars - Highest Dollars ($) Raised by a Single Class
Each class has designated Team Captains to help encourage as much participation as possible in each respective class. Below you will find details on Team Captains per class. Expect to hear from these fellow alumni!

WHAT IS THE TD ALUMNI CHALLENGE?
WHY IS TD HOSTING AN ALUMNI GIVING CHALLENGE?
WHY PARTICIPATE?
As alumni, you are well aware that our students are provided with opportunities that will carry them far beyond their time at TASIS Dorado. Alumni support helps strengthen our school as TASIS Dorado’s offerings continue to grow and advance. Current students will have access to the opportunities and experiences that TASIS Dorado gave you.
Today, there are 56 teams participating in four interscholastic leagues from elementary school to high school at TASIS Dorado! This means that 60% of our student body is active in interscholastic sports. 60% is an impressive number, but having an air-conditioned facility with locker rooms and other resources will encourage even more students to find their niche in healthy movement and activity. If you were ever part of a team, you know the impact it had on your character and taught you vital life skills.
Adding a gymnasium with air conditioning, physical fitness facilities, and a dedicated space for our wellness program will add immensely to our community and our mission as a school. Our students will further develop their leadership skills and cultivate important life skills, including discipline, teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and humility. It is the goal of our Wellness Program to have every graduate leave TASIS Dorado with a desire to lead a rewarding and active life.
In addition to athletics and physical education, we see this center as a place where a wide range of services and resources related to wellness will be available to all our students and teachers. There is an ever-expanding body of research showing the profound connection between the psycho-social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and intellectual aspects of human flourishing. We intend to address the well-being of the whole person, for both students and faculty.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I CONTRIBUTE?
The projected cost of the TASIS Wellness & Athletics Center is $6.5 million. Yes, it’s a big number. To date, we have raised $1.9 million. An impressive accomplishment! In order to break ground in September 2020, our goal is to raise another $2 million.
We recognize that our alumni body is young and just starting out! Currently, many of you are in undergraduate or graduate school, starting your first professional job or purchasing your first apartment! All of which come with deep financial responsibility. Therefore, PARTICIPATION, not dollars, is the goal of this challenge! No matter how big or small. Every gift matters and will have an impact on the new TASIS Wellness & Athletic Center. For this inaugural alumni challenge, we have set a goal of 30% participation per class. The winner will be based on two categories:
- Donor Participation - Highest Giving Percentage (%) by a Single Class
- Dollars - Highest Dollars ($) Raised by a Single Class
